Why did ancient builder go to so much trouble to build symbols into their temples and settlements?
Could it be that they have a specific meaning which provides your life with meaning?
In my opinion, and in my experience, yes, they do!

This is my experience with esoteric symbolism. You don’t have to believe me, but it is a true story. And the events detailed below changed my life.
How I Stumbled on Symbols
In 2011, I had an urge to travel to South America. Having watched the Ancient Aliens series on whatever dodgy channel it was on, I was not convinced by the alien theory.
However, I was fascinated by the temples and artefacts they were showcasing. The urge I felt pulling me towards South America was would open up a gateway into the secret world of the Superconscious.
As I explored the multiple settlements built by various ancient civilisations inhabiting Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras, I noticed a common thread; the same symbols and numbers kept appearing.
Three, seven, 12 and 19 were most prominent among the numbers. Spirals, the chakana, or Andean Cross were the most dominant symbols. But what struck me most was that settlements always featured a reflection of the Pleiades star system and the planet Venus.
Curious as to why these symbols were there, I did some digging. What I found were some interesting videos on YouTube and various articles that described how the ‘Cabal’ uses symbols for nefarious means.
I do not doubt that some of these uses are true, but the explanation did not sit right with me. My intuition told me there was a deeper meaning, something more important to mankind.
Next, I stumbled across the likes of Jordan Maxwell, who promulgated the idea that symbolism related to the solar system, whose energies were used for nefarious reasons by the ‘Cabal.”
Still wasn’t sitting with me.
I continued my research and mostly encountered websites promoting angel numbers and the symbolism in the Bible offered by Christian Scholars.
The content was mostly wishy-washy bollocks. I can totally relate to the sceptics.
Except, inside, I was convinced symbolism had a deeper meaning. I just need to figure out what.
Then, one night, as I lay in bed, I had an epiphany and bolted upright.
“The Mind!”
Symbolism had to relate to the mind!
What was more important to mankind than the mind?
That moment was a breakthrough — but what I discovered goes even further.
There’s more than one mind.
It turns out there are three minds: the conscious mind, the subconscious mind and the Superconscious mind (which you will discover in the Beginner’s Guide To Symbolism are referenced by the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost).
Into The Esoteric Symbolism Rabbit Hole
Once I realised symbols relate to the mind, I was guided to the works of Carl Jung.
My learning had begun.
Other Jungian analysts followed, together with multiple other authors covering alchemy, tarot, astrology, Kabbalah and mythology.

The world of depth psychology led me to biology to understand how the central nervous system works; to neuroscience to learn how neural networks transmit or inhibit information; and to quantum physics, where I discovered the weird life of consciousness.
Despite ten years of reading scores of books, it’s been the life experiences that have provided the deepest teachings.
The next lesson happened in Ischia, a small island off the coast of Naples in Italy. I was holidaying there with my sister, Michelle. She likes to laze around the pool. I like to explore.
This one particular day, she said, “I’m going shopping this afternoon. Shall we meet up down there and eat out tonight?”
I agreed, and the arrangement was left at that. No specific place or time. We didn’t have a network connection on our mobile phones, but it would have been easy to bump into one another. In downtown Ischia, there is one solitary shopping street with a smattering of restaurants.
After I had finished exploring for the day, I decided to take the bus to the centre and grab a beer whilst I waited for Michelle to appear. This was about 4 pm.
As I stepped off the bus, I said to my higher Self: “Find Michelle.”
At this point, I was merely exploring the idea that your mind can attract other energies into your sphere simply by asking or paying attention to what you want to attract.

Around 5 pm, there was no sign of Michelle. So I had another beer with a small bowl of peanuts. As you do.
With the clock approaching 6 pm and my stomach beginning to rumble, I decided to head back to the villa and see what was happening.
As I waited for the bus, a strange thing happened. A voice in my head said, “Walk,” and I felt an energetic pull in my chest, not too dissimilar to a magnet.
So I began walking.
There were two ways back to the villa. The shortest way was up a fairly steep hill. The other way was longer because the pavement meandered around the estate.
But the longer route was flat, and less would put less strain on my legs and feet, which, after traipsing around a castle for about four hours, were knackered.
I’d not got very far when Lo and behold, coming towards me was Michelle. When I told her about the voice telling me to walk, she went, “Really? That’s weird because I started going the other way, and decided to turn round and come this way.”
So we both had a thought pop into our heads that changed our original decision and the course of our action.
I’d wanted to go home on the bus, the easy option, but was told to walk — the harder option. Michelle was going to take the shorter route, the easy option, but was told to go the longer route — the harder option.
Later that night, I was sitting on a bench by the bus stop. I had my head down looking at the ground, my mind silent. Another bus travelling in the opposite direction went past.
Do you know those moments when you look up without thinking?
That happened to me. In that moment, I looked up and saw the bus.
The number of the bus was 444.
444 means trust in your experience; you are on the right path.
My Next Epiphany: Esoteric Symbolism At Work
My previous insights into the power of esoteric symbolism were nothing compared to what happened next.
I was in India, in a dusty city called Aurangabad, which is about this far from Mumbai — on the map. My next port of call was Khajuraho, which was about this far from Aurangabad.
The train seemed the best option, so off I popped to the station to buy a ticket.
It was absolute chaos.
There were about 8 window tellers, all of whom had a queue 20-minutes deep. So I joined a queue. I got to the window and asked for a ticket to Khahuarjo.
“Where is your ticket?” The young man asked.
And I said, “I want to buy a ticket.”
“No, your ticket number. You need a ticket number,” the young man said, pointing towards a box on the wall.
What he was pointing to was a ticket queuing system — you know the type that are used when people sit in waiting rooms where there is no queue. Why have they…I don’t know.
So I got a ticket number and rejoined the same queue — for another 20 minutes.
I asked for my ticket, and the young man said:
“You need window number eight.”
He could have told me that 20-minutes earlier.
So I joined the queue for window eight. This time, when I got to the front, I was told, “There is no train for Khahuarjo until Tuesday.”
This was Saturday.
My response was something along the lines of “Oh, for fuck’s sake!” And I stormed off like a petulant little child.
“I’ll get the bus.”
Against the advice of the receptionist at the hotel, who said, “No, no, no, don’t get the bus,” I got the bus. For the next three days. Sunday, Monday, oohhh…
The first bus was an overnight journey, and I was given bed number 10. Bouncing along a dust track covered with potholes I didn’t sleep a wink. The bout of Hepatitis A stabbing my stomach wasn’t helping either.
If you don’t know what Hepatitis A is, da street name is “Delhi Belly”.
I think you might know where this story is going!
On the next bus, I was given seat number 10.
10 again.
And on the third bus, guess what seat number I got?
10?
No, it was six, but the following morning, I booked into a hotel and was given room number 10.
By this time the old food basket was grumbling away like a cantankerous old man.
And my pothole was about to explode.
I don’t know if you’ve been to India, but the toilets are holes in the floor with ceramic edging. To use it, you have to crouch.
There I was crouched on my haunches over this hole, jeans around my ankles, stomach grumbling…
…and then…
Well, let’s just say, it’s not my proudest moment.
A thought popped into my head: “This is not a good place to be.”
The next thought that popped into my head was, “How did I get here?”
Well, I can tell how I got there. Being impatient, childish and stubborn in Aurangabad had got me there.
The next thought that popped into my head was, “I wonder what number 10 means?”
I know, I wasn’t expecting that either.
The Symbolic Meaning of Number 10
At this time in my life, I’d started doing some tentative research into symbolism, and I worked out that 10 means one cycle has ended and another has begun.
How it works is that the number zero is potential and one is a new cycle arising from an idea, desire, aspiration or understanding.
Think of this using the numeric scale of 0 to 9; 10 is the end of the first set of numbers and reverts back to the beginning because the zero is in 10.
Zero and one again
In contrast, if you see 11, it means you have acquired knowledge in the last cycle (0-9) and you can take that understanding into your next evolutionary cycle, 11-20.
10, however, means FAIL.
I hadn’t learned my lesson, and had to return to the start and have another go.
Impatience, intolerance and stubbornness were clearly not the lessons my Higher consciousness wanted me to learn.
That evening, I boarded another bus and meditated on my discovery. What I realised was that the lesson I was meant to learn was to have patience and tolerance with things that are outside of my sphere of influence.
You cannot control anything you do not have dominion over.
I arrived at the next city at 1 am.
One — a new start.
Well remembered.
I grabbed a tuk-tuk, and he took me to a hotel, where I was asked?
“Where are you from?”
“England.”
“British? No, we don’t have any rooms.”
I got the same reply at the next hotel. And the one after that.
After the third refusal, the Tuk-Tuk driver, a young man, was looking sheepish and embarrassed.
Ordinarily, I expect I might have been annoyed also, but I remained completely calm. I was not agitated at all.
And as I stepped back into the Tuk-Tuk, a thought came into my head that changed my life.
“This is just a test.”
And I burst into laughter.
Energy drained from my body, and I felt embraced by a shroud of peace and serenity. My head felt completely light and unburdened; liberated.
The next hotel we tried had a room.
Do you know what the number was?
No, not 10.
33.
In symbolism, 33 is the number of mastery. The illuminated mind.
In that moment, I realised esoteric symbolism can be used as a self-development tool.
That experience showed me what I believe is the secret to life.
